Creativity, addiction and family secrets. Musician and master storyteller Tom Wilson takes an unflinching looks at his tumultuous life in Beautiful Scars: Steeltown Secrets, Mohawk Skywalkers and the Road Home.

In December, CKUA’s Allison Brock hosted an evening with Tom in front of a live audience at Calgary’s Wordfest. This week on CKUA, you can listen in on the intimate, poignant and hilarious discussion between two friends who have known each other for more than 25 years.

During the hour-long chat, Tom talks about growing up in Hamilton in the 60s, his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, and how he learned only recently about his Mohawk ancestry and his true family history. Tune in to hear the *original* version of the chapter that describes his return to a Mohawk reserve to meet relatives shortly after discovering the story of his childhood.

Tune in this Wednesday at 7pm for the hour-long show, which will feature excerpts from the interview as well as music from Tom’s solo projects, as well as Junkhouse and Blackie & The Rodeo Kings.
