From a Speaker’s Corner booth in Toronto to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Steven Page has had a long and strange journey. And now, the latest stop for the former Barenaked Ladies co-founder it Calgary’s National Music Centre as its the current Master in Residence.

Last Saturday, Page kicked off his residency with a fascinating live chat with our own Terry David Mulligan. The two have known each other since the infamous MuchMusic video appearance that launched the band’s success, both in Canada and internationally, leading to an open and illuminating interview.

The lively conversation touched on everything from BNL’s early days recording The Yellow Cassette, to his successful solo career, struggles with mental illness and his newest gig, working with emerging artists┬áto inspire creativity, encourage emotion, share expertise and provide mentorship.
