Ken Mansfield Has the Story Behind the Beatles Famous Rooftop Concert

At the Beatles’ second-last concert, they played to 25,000 fans at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park in 1966.

At their final concert, they played for an audience of four.

On January 30th, 1969, former Apple Records executive Ken Mansfield found himself rather unexpectedly witnessing history, as one of the tiny handful of attendees at The Beatles famed Rooftop Concert.

Ken is the author of a fascinating chronicle detailing his five years working with the Fab Four, culminating on that chilly winter day on a fifth-floor roof.

He chatted with CKUA’s Grant Stovel on the 50th anniversary of that landmark moment.
