Hannah Georgas’ “Imprints”

Out on International Women’s Day 2019, Hannah Georgas’ new EP Imprints finds her interpreting songs by women — songs that shaped her life, and put her on a path to becoming a musician herself. She put her own spin on songs by Eurythmics, Tegan & Sara, Janet Jackson and The Cranberries. She also sought out different female collaborators on each track — Tamara Lindeman (The Weather Station), Montaigne, Emily King, and Holly Laessig & Jess Wolfe from the band Lucius.

Hannah chatted with CKUA’s Grant Stovel about how these songs have inspired and sustained her over the years, how she pulled in like-minded musicians to collaborate, plus how she’s celebrating International Women’s Day by sharing a playlist of some of her favourite female and non-binary artists.
