Vusi Mahlasela - Guiding Star

Vusi Mahlasela is a poet and songwriter in South Africa. Reading his work in public resulted in repeated arrests and detention during the apartheid era. Vusi decided he would memorize all his work so that there would be no paper for the police to confiscate.

His new CD, Guiding Star, is a beautiful continuation of that writing, with guest artists Derek Trucks, Dave Matthews, and Angelique Kidjo lending their support.
