CKUA’s popular country music program, as its name implies, cuts a wide swath through the genre of country, from traditional, alt country, bluegrass and roots music. Program host Allison Brock has been involved in the music industry all of her working life, including marketing and promotions for the major labels and all aspects of artist development. First and foremost a seasoned radio broadcaster, Allison knows – and loves – REAL country music.
Allison has been involved in the radio and music industries for over 25 years – she started when she was five. Her love of music has always been the driving force in her life and work. In the late 70’s Allison began working for alternative rock stations, and flipped over to the record company side of the music machine in the late 80’s
Working with A&M, Sony and Virgin records, she handled the marketing responsibilities for many artists including Lenny Kravitz, Junkhouse, Colin Linden, The Rolling Stones, 54-40, Ben Harper and Our Lady Peace – to name a few.
Allison has worked in all aspects of the music business including artist management – for Jann Arden.
Returning to radio in 2000 as an independent radio producer and host – Allison premiered Wide Cut Country on Alberta’s Province-wide radio network; CKUA.
Allison’s incredible wealth of knowledge and passion for music remains as strong as ever.
