JIMMIE RODGERS 1929 VICTOR SCROLL LABEL 78

Recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, October 22, 1928, here is the Singin’ Brakeman, Jimmie Rodgers, with a raggle-taggle Dixieland band (featuring Hawaiian guitar) helping him out on one of his finest sides - Waiting For A Train.

I’ve been on the hunt for this 78 for a long time - finally got a copy from my pal Bob Brown in Spokane. And, when I was poking around on the Internet, I found a YouTube link to some movie footage of Jimmie singing Waiting For A Train. Truly astounding to see. Here’s a link to that film footage.

We heard Waiting For A Train on the November 27/06 edition of RRR.
