HOMER & JETHRO FRACTURE FRANK LOESSER (RCA ten inch LP)
From 1953, here is Homer & Jethro’s
first (and impossibly rare) LP. It’s a little ten-inch
beauty, four songs per side. Known as ‘the thinking
man’s hillbillies’, nothing was sacred in the
hands of Homer & Jethro – even the fancy show tunes
of Frank Loesser. According to the liner notes, Frank loved
the lampooning. We heard H & J’s take on A Bushel
And A Peck as well as If I Were A Bell, back-to-back,
on the May 29 RRR.
