WYNONIE HARRIS 'GOOD ROCKIN' TONIGHT' 45 AND SLEEVE
Here's
a gem - an early fifties King 45 pressing (and matching company
sleeve) of the Wynonie Harris classic, Good Rockin' Tonight,
originally released on 78 in 1948.
Although Roy Brown (who wrote the tune) recorded and released
Good Rockin' Tonight before Mr. Harris, Wynonie's
version is usually cited as the source for the 'A' side of
Elvis Presley's second Sun single, from 1954.
We heard Good Rockin' Tonight on the January
7-08 'Happy Birthday Elvis' Revisited edition of
RRR.
