ALBERTA SLIM WITH PAT GEROW-EARLY 50s C&W 78
Here’s a Canadian country artifact for your viewing
pleasure – an Alberta Slim 78 on the obscure Gavotte
label. As near as I can tell, this Wilf Carter influenced
disc was released in the early 50s.
We lost Alberta Slim (Eric Edwards) in late
2005 at the age of 95. He was musically active till well up
into his 90s. I did a festival with Slim around 2000 and he
was still yodeling up a storm. Thanks for the tunes, Slim.
This 78 was featured on the all Canadian RRR
on July 3rd.
