1952 ANITA O'DAY 45 RPM BOX SET
Here's a find. Singin' And Swingin' - a very
cool 4-45 rpm box set from the great jazz singer Anita O'Day,
circa 1952. You get eight of her essential 1947 solo recordings
on four little 45s, previously available on very noisy, badly
pressed Signature 78s.
Scanning the notes, printed on the inside of the box, I
found a great quote from Anita. She says 'I hope to be darn
good by the time I'm 92'. Well, she did live till the age
of 87 and, according to all reports, was singin' and swingin'
till the very end - November, 2006. Good on ya, Anita!
