Terry David Mulligan is passionate about the music, the station and its listeners. He has always been a supporter of CKUA, calling it “unquestionably the best music station in Canada.”

Terry David began his career in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, working in both Olds and Red Deer, Alberta. That’s right, Terry was a Mountie! Although he was an extremely dedicated servant to Queen and country, his stint as an RCMP officer lasted only four years. In 1964, he gave up his horse to ride the airwaves.

TDM spent the next two decades as a DJ at such stations as CKRD, CFUN and CHUM. He also programmed Canada’s first underground FM station CKLG/FM, now CFOX, hosted 8 years of CBC’s Great Canadian Goldrush and the nationally syndicated show, Discumentary.

For his work, Terry received Canadian Announcer of the Year and VJ of the Year awards. He branched out from radio in the 1980s to share his musical expertise on CBC’s first network video show, Good Rockin’ Tonight. This led to his post at MuchMusic, where he created, produced and hosted MuchWest for 14 years. More recently, Terry David was a host and segment producer of MT-Movie Television  and a Senior Segment Producer and interviewer for the Star! Canada’s Entertainment Network and StarDaily!

Terry is also an actor. His film credits include principal roles in such films as The Accused, Look Who’s Talking Two and Mystery, Alaska, shot in Canmore. He has also appeared on The X-Files, was a regular cast member on CTV’s Robson Arms, CBC’s These Arms of Mine and shot five years of Molson Golden commercials with John Candy, Dan Ackroyd, Andrea Martin and Gilda Radner.

Terry has relocated back to his childhood home North Vancouver in a house built in 1908. Original Radio – Original House.

He brings us Mulligan Stew from Vancouver.  It’s also the same studio in which he creates and produces his weekly one-hour food, wine and travel show, Tasting Room Radio. TDM also co-produces and co-hosts Hollywood & Vines TV with his pal Jason Priestley. The wine and food show is seen in 190 Countries.

He’s also hosting and producing Live from Railtown, a new daily arts and music show on Vancouver’s newest FM Roundhouse Radio. Many of the artists he talks to on CKUA will be heard in Vancouver and vice versa.

While Terry has accomplished a lot in his career and certainly there is more to come, there is nothing that Terry is more proud of than his family. Terry has four children, three grandchildren  and has been married to Meg for more than 40 years. He considers himself  the luckiest guy in the world.

He’s been inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame with a star outside the Commodore Ballroom and was 2011 BC Broadcaster of the Year.
