This Friday, April 12th at 8pm, CKUA is very pleased to present an extra-special season finale edition of Alberta Backstage -- it's the broadcast of a live-to-tape feature-length concert by Edmonton six-piece group the AwesomeHots.

This past Wednesday, the AwesomeHots gathered in the live performance space at CKUA's brand-new Edmonton studios to record an hour-long show in front of a live in-studio audience. The band took the rapt audience through a set of their original music, featuring their highly original instrumentation -- cornet, kazoo, accordion, two ukuleles, a railroad tie and a hammer, a metal bucket, guitars, wind chimes, mandolins and a hamperwriter. A hamperwriter? Yep, a hamperwriter.



Plus, band members Amy van Keeken and Darren Radbourne chat with Alberta Backstage host Grant Stovel about the band's genesis, their music, and, well... the hamperwriter.

That's all part of the Season Three finale of Alberta Backstage, this Friday from 8-9pm.
