CD Hotbox

We get hundreds of CDs into the station from all over the world, every month. Each appeals to a different announcer for a variety of reasons; however, some discs are coveted by many announcers. And because squirreling albums away is very tempting, The Hotbox was created in Main Control to ensure that the popular discs are available to all. Once in the hotbox, the CDs are not allowed to leave Main Control.

Here are some of the discs that are being featured in the Hotbox this week:

Discs are added to the Hotbox by programming & library staff. As well, our music director may add a CD because he wants all announcers to take notice of it, or it is by a really popular artist such as Bonnie Raitt or John Prine. Some announcers might ask for an album to be added to the Hotbox if they can never find the album on the shelf. And, sometimes an album is just so good, listening to only one song is not enough!
