Cathy was offered her first real job just days after graduating from NAIT’s 2-year Radio and Television Program.  At graduation she was the recipient of two STAR Awards (‘Students of Television and Radio’).  In attendance were members of Alberta’s media who were also judges for the Awards.  She was offered a couple of interviews at the ceremony and 2 days later accepted a job offer from CKUA.  She joined the News Department here as an Announcer/Producer and the rest, as they say, is history.

Cathy has worked on and off for CKUA for some twenty-five years: in news, technical production, and music.  She loves information but her passion is music. She was Announcer/Producer for ‘A Classic Example’, ‘The Listening Room’, ‘Passport’, and ‘The Folkways Collection’.

Cathy recently re-joined CKUA as one of our fill-in hosts and has been heard on ‘Saturday/Sunday Breakfast’, ‘Saturday Morning’, ‘Alberta Morning’, ‘Mid-Morning Mojo’, ‘Somethin’ Else’ and ‘How I Hear It’.

Cathy treasures her family and friends and enjoys reading, live theatre, movies, and a good laugh.
