Dusty Springfield

This week, on Triple-R Radio, Roy’s spinning  45s from a recently acquired stack. You’ll hear the soulful Garnet Mimms recording of “Cry Baby”, later immortalized by Janis Joplin. The Animals take a tune from the first Bob Dylan album and reimagine it as the rocking “Baby Let Me Take You Home”. And who knew that the flip side of Dylan’s “I Threw It All Away” was “Drifter’s Escape”, a track from his mysterious, bare-bones  “John Wesley Harding” LP?  The drifter makes an appearance on RRR.

That ain’t all. Roy checks out more great singles from Barbara George, Ike & Tina Turner, , the Beatles, Rusty & Doug Kershaw, Dion, J J Jackson, Dusty Springfield,  etc.

That’s Sunday at 1pm MT for a fresh Fingerfulla 45s on Roy’s Record Room, the show that reveals the roots.
