Jocelyne Stephens Memorial Fund
CKUA
is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jocelyne Stephens
Memorial Fund, our first named endowment fund created in memory
of listener and supporter Jocelyne Stephens, who passed
away tragically in the summer of 2007. A much loved wife, mother
and community member, Jocelyne had a passion for the outdoors,
adventure and great music. Her husband, Arnie Stephens, remembers
fondly the Saturday afternoons they spent listening to CKUA, and
to honor Jocelyne’s memory and celebrate her life, has made a
gift of $25,000 to establish the Jocelyne Stephens Memorial Fund
in support of Saturday afternoon programming. This generous gift
has been endowed and the proceeds will support Saturday afternoon
programming on CKUA in perpetuity.
This spring, an episode of Natch’l
Blues was dedicated to Jocelyne’s memory. Holger
Petersen, host of Natch’l Blues played songs
suggested by Arnie and shared some stories about Jocelyne and the
Stephens family. This special edition aired March 22nd.
CKUA would like to sincerely thank Arnie Stephens and his sons,
Mike and Mark, for this generous legacy gift to CKUA.
