Question: Who'd
have guessed that Lethbridge would be ground centre for the best Alberta roots-rock
record so far this year? Answer: Those discerning music lovers who knew that
Leeroy Stagger was now making his home in Alberta's southern city!
Leeroy's first records were made on the west coast but a few years ago he
relocated to southern Alberta and it seemed to give him a new burst of energy,
along with an opportunity to rise above some of the excesses of the rock 'n' roll
lifestyle. On his new album Leeroy isn't afraid to let you in on a few of his
secrets, including his recent sobriety and his love of classic sounds like '70s
era Stones. With a handful of rockers and a couple of sweet ballads, Everything
Is Real is my nomination for this week's prairie summer soundtrack! Loud
music and a steel guitar That's all I want to hear I'm just waitin' for
the wheels to fall off Hope my band could make it back next year (Lyrics
from Leeroy Stagger's song "Petrified World")
