For nearly 40 years, Bryan Adams has been a lot of things over his career: one of the world’s best-selling musicians, celebrated songwriter and Hall-of-Famer, Order of Canada recipient.

Now, he can add songwriting  for Broadway to his already legendary list of accomplishments.  Adams and his long-time writing partner Jim Valance are almost finished  both a new album and 23  songs for the musical Pretty Woman, based on the 1990 hit film. The production  opens  on Broadway Mid-August. The next album follows shortly after that.

Bryan kicked off a tour in Victoria  that will take him across Canada and then across the world, Adams sits down with Terry David Mulligan on this week’s Mulligan Stew. The pair have known each other for Adams’ entire career – back when he was an unknown backing vocalist in North Vancouver.

They talk about those old days, as well as Adams’ foray into musical theatre, the newest album and international fame  that hasn’t erased his hard work ethic. Catch it this Saturday at 5pm MT on Mulligan Stew. And hear the full interview on this week’s Mulligan Stew podcast.
