Booker T. Jones is still a powerful force in blues. As the frontman of Booker T. and the M.G.’s, he has a massive influence on the direction of southern soul music. Working with Stax Records in Memphis, Booker played on more than 600 records, including releases by greats such as Otis Redding, Carla Thomas and Albert King.
He is now bringing a bit of history to Alberta, with a sold-out show in Sherwood Park; “Booker T. Presents A Stax Review and a Journey Through Soul, Blues and R & B” tracks the soul legend’s decades-long career and his experiences in helping shape the genres.
