Showcasing the products and prototypes that are made in Edmonton for your home, kitchen and office. ArtBeat talks to Brandon Webber the organizer of Edmonton and Area Industrial Design Show, Tete Jaune about why locally designed items are matter for the city. There is a meet-and-greet with the 19 Industrial designers on November 7 from 6-11pm. The industrial design show runs November 8 and 9 at 9-5pm. Both events are at Iconoclast Coffee in Edmonton’s Oliver neighbourhood.

Glass blowers are helping Calgary Water Treatment scientists to see their work more clearly. Bee Kingdom Glass made larger than life sculptures of the microorganisms that help clean Calgary’s water. ArtBeat finds out about the WATERSHED+ Public Art Program. The works are on display in the Public Art Program’s Open Spaces window until January 2015. It’s located on the Centre St LRT platform along 7 Ave.
