Come see what happens when a bunch of Alberta musicians strap on skates at Sunday’s “Elite Cup” Hockey Challenge, to benefit both the Edmonton Food Bank and CKUA.
The event sees a squad of Edmonton artists (sponsored by Blues on Whyte) face-off against their Calgary counterparts (backed by the Blues Can) in a game that makes up in fun what it might lack in technical skill.
Players include well-loved Alberta musicians like Bobby Cameron, Jimmy Guiboche, Dave Babcock, Mike Plume, Rott’n Dan Shinnan — and even CKUA’s own Grant Stovel!
As well, there will be a silent auction, 50/50 draw, guitar raffle and food.
It all gets underway starting at 1pm MT at Rogers Place Community Arena in downtown Edmonton, with the puck drop at 1:45pm. Be sure to bring $10 for entry and a non-perishable food item.
And a very special thanks to organizer (and musician) Michael Will for all the work conceiving and planning the event.
