The Alberta Ingenuity Fund supports science and engineering research of the highest calibre, to create a prosperous future for the province. It draws funding from a $1 billion endowment established and managed by the Government of Alberta to build the capacity for innovation, especially in areas with long lasting social and economic impact.

Below are some of the many programs that Alberta Ingenuity proudly sponsors:

For many, the search for knowledge is a life-long pursuit that begins in childhood. Alberta Ingenuity is committed to inspiring youth to follow their dreams and quench their curiosity, supporting a number of youth initiatives that provide hands on learning. From Discover E, Minds in Motion and Destination Exploration science summer camps, to research programs and workshops.
For Alberta to stay on the leading edge and remain competitive, industry must invest in ongoing research. Alberta Ingenuity's Industrial Associateship program assists industry in recruiting new, highly skilled, scientists and engineers. This helps to further develop and strengthen Alberta's science and engineering research capacity, while providing meaningful employment opportunities.
Research at universities and colleges is at the heart of Alberta's future prosperity. That's where the Alberta Ingenuity Centres come in. Alberta Ingenuity Centres are multi-million dollar research programs in areas of central importance to Alberta's well-being -- like clean water, computer technology, and sustainable energy.
Who says science can't be glamorous? This fall - in an exciting challenge modeled after the popular TV show, Iron Chef - sixteen Alberta science teachers vied for the honour of being crowned the 2007 Iron Science Teachers. Brought to you by Alberta Ingenuity, at the Telus World of Science, in Calgary.
