CKUA celebrates the vocal classical tradition each Sunday evening on Bel Musica. The program features excerpts and shorter works that range from medieval and Renaissance music to modern opera, with a balance of solo and choral music. The mix of music is not only appealing to aficionados, but accessible to listeners who are new to the sounds of the vocal classical genre.
Bel Musica also previews performances of opera, choral and vocal music which are scheduled for live presentation in Edmonton and Calgary; Mark Antonelli selects the finest recorded performances of these works for the program.
